This privacy policy explains how Damien Walmsley (we / us) collects and uses personal data when you visit this website, buy prints, subscribe to the newsletter, or get in touch.
Who is responsible
Damien Walmsley is operated by Burstoffruit.com Ltd (Brookfield Court, Selby Road, Garforth, Leeds, England, LS25 1NB). For privacy questions, email james@burstoffruit.com or use the contact form.
What we collect
- Contact details you send us (name, email, message).
- Order details needed to fulfil print purchases (name, address, email, payment confirmation from the payment provider).
- Newsletter details if you subscribe (email and preferences).
- Optional first-party analytics (pages viewed, search terms, approximate country) only if you allow analytics cookies. We do not store IP addresses in analytics.
Why we use it
- To reply to enquiries and provide the services you request.
- To process and deliver shop orders (contract).
- To send the newsletter when you have subscribed (consent; you can unsubscribe any time).
- To send optional print-shop / new-prints emails when you have opted in to marketing (consent; separate from the stories newsletter where we keep them distinct).
- To improve the site with privacy-friendly analytics when you consent.
- To keep the shop and site secure, and to meet legal obligations such as tax records. Security tools may process your IP address and browser information for that purpose.
- To show Google AdSense on story pages only if you allow advertising cookies.
Email types
- Newsletter (stories): editorial emails you subscribe to. May mention prints for interest. One-click unsubscribe and manage-subscription links are in every message.
- Print shop / new prints: commercial marketing about products for sale, only if you opted in (including the checkout box). Unsubscribe stops these; it does not cancel orders.
- Order, licence and account emails: system messages needed to fulfil a purchase or download. These are not marketing and do not use a newsletter unsubscribe link.
- Basket reminder: a single reminder only if you tick the optional box at checkout.
Advertising and Google
Story pages can show ads from Google AdSense after you opt in. Google and its advertising partners may store or access information on your device, personalise ads, and measure ad performance. That can include cookies, similar identifiers, IP address, and browser details. Google may process this data in the United States and other countries. Ads are not loaded on the shop, basket, or checkout, and they are not loaded if you choose essential cookies only.

Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can ask for a copy of your data, corrections, deletion where applicable, restriction, or objection to certain processing. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
United States state privacy laws
If a US state privacy law applies to you (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or similar laws), you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context advertising. Choosing essential cookies only, or turning advertising off in Cookie settings, is that opt-out on this site. We do not sell personal information for money. Google AdSense may share identifiers for personalised ads only after you allow advertising.
